Tokyo time!

So tomorrow I am going to Tokyo!

I have some mixed feelings about Tokyo. I had a great time when I was there last time...with Keith. And while I will be there, it is going to be what would have been our one year anniversary, so it's kind of a bittersweet occasion. I'm just hoping for more sweet than bitter, but we'll see. Hopefully it won't bog me down too much, because it's TOKYO. The best city in the world, or it was last time I was there anyway. I can't wait to shop and go out and do things and enjoy my long weekend.

Leaving tomorrow, will be back Wednesday, wish me luck and fun!

Oh look, an update!

So yeah, I'm in Japan now. I kinda got disheartened when someone said that blogging was stupid and abandoned the whole blogging idea, but now that I am keeping a blog for the Courier Post, I figured maybe I should give this one a try again, so I can post things that I don't wanna say in that one. My parents read that one. Do they read this one too? I may soon find out, haha.

So schoolwork has been tough so far. Like really tough. I've heard that the first two weeks are the worst though, so if I can make it through this week, I'll be golden. And this week I am going to study even harder than last week, so I can go to Tokyo for my break and not have to worry too much.

So far, one of my favorite things about Japan is sharing an apartment with Annica. W e are Team Cake abroad! The food's been pretty good too, mostly, and there has been no shortage of things to buy, either. I'm sure that'll get even worse in Tokyo. I plan on singlehandedly boosting the Japanese economy.

Tonight for dinner I am planning on making yakisoba...yum! i am mentioning that because I am getting hungry, so I am going to end my blog post here. Ciao!

Oh look, a blog!

Well, here's a blog. It isn't my first blog, but I feel like it is time for me to start writing again, and using my old one didn't feel right. I want to use this blog to not only keep in touch with my friends (hi guys!) but also start writing again. After all, if I am going to be interning at a newspaper, I am going to need to get back into unstructured writing.

Also, because Nichole called my life a joyless void lacking creativity, to her I say "I'll show you!" That it isn't, of course.

And right now, this summer looks full of promise or something so as long as I can remember to write, this will be a good way of letting me document my experiences and exercise creativity in writing, along with keeping in touch.

Lined up for this summer--
Work at the park, Friday through Monday
Internship, Tuesday and Thursday
Vacation to Cape May June 27 to July 3
Visit from Keith, sometime in the future, exact date not planned

Also, a few things I hope to accomplish:
-More writing (duh)
-Learning more kanji and keeping up on what I've already learned so I don't suck too much when I go to Japan in the fall
-Cleaning and getting rid of a lot of stuff
-Reading more. I'm sure this will come with work too, especially on slow days

So now that I have this blog, let's see how good I am about updating it!
